Carrier Development Representative

TA Services is a logistics company focused on moving business forward through various transportation services. The Carrier Development Representative will collaborate with the Carrier Development Manager to expand the carrier network, analyze market trends, and build long-term partnerships to support the company's objectives.

Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with the Carrier Development Manager and operations team to expand and strengthen TA Services’ carrier network
Analyze market trends and carrier performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency
Lead initiatives to convert spot-market carriers into long-term contractual partners
Partner with sales and operations teams to align carrier strategies with customer requirements and service goals
Build and maintain long-term partnerships across all modes—including truckload, less-than-truckload, intermodal, expedited, and air freight—to support TA Services’ objectives of meaningful relationships, competitive rates, and risk mitigation

Required

Bachelor's Degree required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of two (2) years of direct truckload (TL) capacity development and carrier management experience
Flatbed procurement experience required
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Deep understanding of TA Services' Managed Transportation services, carrier onboarding, contracts, settlement processes, systems integration, and operational execution
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to build strong relationships internally and externally
Analytical thinker capable of evaluating rates and demonstrating data-driven decision-making
Strong planning, organizational, and presentation skills
Quality-driven and results-oriented mindset
Problem-solver with an understanding of freight market dynamics and trends
Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to creating value for both carriers and clients

Preferred

Prior experience in a 3PL environment preferred
Familiarity with McLeod and MercuryGate TMS systems preferred
Experience with cross-border freight processes preferred but not required
