Big Bend Community College (BBCC) invites applications for a Classroom Aide in the Basic Education for Adults (BEdA) Department. This role is responsible for assisting the instructor with daily classroom activities and supporting adult learners in their educational journey.

Responsibilities

Assist students with assigned work, either individually or in small groups
Assist in administering CASAS (Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System) tests to students
Assist in the collection and maintenance of required student records, attendance, test scores, and achievement records
Assist the instructor in promoting intercultural awareness and sensitivity in the classroom
Provide feedback to the instructor regarding student needs or classroom conditions
Screen students for eligibility of other possible services (Workforce Education Services (WES), Viking Food Pantry, etc.)
Attend all required training and meetings
Perform related duties as assigned

Qualification

Basic math skillsOrganizational skillsMicrosoft OfficeExperience tutoring adultsBilingual Spanish/English

Required

At least 18 years of age
High school graduate or GED required
Organizational skills
Strong basic math skills
Previous experience working with computer applications such a Microsoft Office
Previous experience working directly with individuals from diverse academic, age, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds

Preferred

Experience tutoring or assisting adults
Bilingual Spanish/English proficiency
