3+ years expAlpha is seeking a skilled Controls Technician with hands-on experience in Tridium Niagara (N4), Honeywell, or Schneider Electric building automation systems. This role involves installing, programming, commissioning, and servicing BAS/HVAC control systems across commercial and institutional facilities.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and commission HVAC control systems, BAS devices, and networked controllers
Program and troubleshoot Niagara N4, Honeywell, or Schneider Electric control platforms
Integrate third-party systems using BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks communication protocols
Perform site diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on BAS equipment
Work closely with engineers, project managers, and electricians to deliver high-quality installations
Document as-built changes, create point files, and provide detailed service and commissioning reports
Provide technical support, system walk-throughs, and basic end-user training for clients
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience with BAS/HVAC controls installation, programming, or service
Hands-on knowledge of Niagara N4, Honeywell, or Schneider Electric systems
Strong understanding of HVAC fundamentals, sequence of operations, and control strategies
Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, control schematics, riser diagrams, and submittals
Familiarity with low-voltage wiring, terminations, and network communication basics
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to customer project sites
Excellent troubleshooting skills with strong communication and customer service abilities
Preferred
Niagara N4 certification or equivalent OEM/factory training
Experience working with energy dashboards, supervisory software, or analytics platforms
Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, firewalls, switches, routers)
Experience with BAS retrofit, system upgrades, or integration projects
