Responsibilities

Supports origination, design and execution of financial transactions (acquisitions) and strategic projects
Conducts primary and secondary research on markets, competitors and customers
Supports and coordinates due diligence process in accordance with Cemex protocols
Performs complex financial modeling and asset / business evaluation
In collaboration with M&A team, presents opportunities to senior leaders
Tracks the overall deal pipeline and strategy, aligned with the Financial Business case for the deal
Assists with establishing partnerships with external and internal stakeholders (business and support) functions
Monitors status and quickly resolve issues that may arise throughout the Acquisition process
Ensures that Cemex will maximize the value of the deal and leverage all synergies for integration
Collaborates with external parties to help facilitate the M&A process (acquisitions and divestments)
Develops the business case for potential opportunities
Coordinates presentations and materials with other business leaders for presentations involving upper management, led by the US CEO, in various recurring settings

Required

Bachelor's degree required (preferably in the areas of Business or Operations concentration, i.e., Finance, Engineering, Economics, etc.)
5+ years of M&A transaction experience (Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Transaction Advisory consulting), including leading cross-functional teams during M&A process
Proven leadership skills, showcasing independence (a self-starter)
Successful track record in the development of M&A-related activities
Demonstrable experience in financial analysis, modelling and due diligence processes
Ability to identify key drivers and underlying business assumptions (modelling, benchmarking, etc.)
Experience analyzing / evaluating financial statements and multiple investment opportunities
With personal maturity and candor necessary to generate trust and credibility
Able to handle initiatives that require discretion, confidentiality, and prioritization
Superior critical thinking, analytical, and problem‐solving skills
Ability to exercise seasoned judgement
Proven leadership, relationship building and negotiation skills
Ability to communicate effectively across a variety of internal and external constituencies
Exceptional interpersonal and team‐building skills
Ability to inspire confidence and trust with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to be proactive in cultivating new and innovative approaches and solutions
Ability to effectively challenge thinking through qualitative and quantitative reasoning
Prudent business judgement
Ability to improve data quality and accuracy and its utility for strategic decision making
Ability to work independently, influence others, and lead work streams of large initiatives

Preferred

MBA, specialized Masters or Advance degree will be highly valued
Understanding of the industrial sector, including regulatory issues, and competitive trends would be a benefit
