Senior Software Engineer, AV MCU Platform
General Motors is building the future of self-driving technology and is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the AV MCU Platform team. The role involves designing, developing, and deploying embedded software for autonomous vehicles, ensuring high-quality and efficient deployment cycles while collaborating cross-functionally to meet stakeholder needs.

Responsibilities
Design, Develop, and Test Embedded C software for Multi-Core Microcontrollers
Develop within an automotive embedded software stack (BSP, BSW, Application)
Create pipelines, tooling, and delivery methods to ensure high-quality and efficient deployment cycles
Work cross functionally to extract design requirements and stakeholder needs
Work with the hardware team to review HW designs
Work with the systems team to ensure delivery of systems, safety, and security requirements
Mentor team members and facilitate cross-team collaboration to ensure overall team success
Qualification
Required
Bachelor Degree in STEM field or relevant work experience
5+ years of experience building and shipping production quality embedded software
Strong background in C Embedded Software development
Experience working with RTOS (such as QNX, FreeRTOS, OSEK, etc)
Ability to adapt and operate under ambiguity, going from quick code prototypes to long-term plans on brief time horizons
Excellent communication skills, capable of switching between high-level and detailed discussions
Preferred
Experience with robotics, autonomous vehicles, automotive embedded systems, or ADAS development
Experience working with AUTOSAR
Experience working in a Safety Critical Embedded Software Environment (ISO 26262, DO-178C, MIL-STD-882E)
Experience developing software that scales to millions of instances and managing it
