Alpha is seeking experienced BAS Technicians to support both service and construction projects throughout the Central and Southwest Virginia regions. The role involves troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining Building Automation Systems while ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Perform commissioning, retro-commissioning, and preventative maintenance on HVAC control systems
Install, program, and commission Building Automation Systems (BAS), including GUIs, integrations, and communication networks
Upgrade and modernize BAS equipment, including transitions from legacy or pneumatic controls
Diagnose issues related to electrical circuits, field devices, control wiring, and communication protocols
Execute preventative maintenance plans using functional testing methods and maintain thorough service documentation
Respond to service calls, troubleshoot system failures, and support fellow technicians during installation and upgrade projects
Interface with customers professionally and ensure all work aligns with project specifications and safety requirements

Required

Minimum 5 years of hands-on BAS experience in service, programming, or commissioning
Proven electro-mechanical aptitude (through education, certifications, or industry experience)
Strong ability to read and interpret design documents, wiring diagrams, and construction drawings
Comfortable working in various environments including heights, confined spaces, and extreme temperatures
Eligible to obtain a security clearance and able to pass a full background check
Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record; ability to operate a company vehicle
Flexible availability, including evenings and overtime when project needs require
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Familiarity with systems such as Tridium, Alerton, Schneider Electric, Distech, Honeywell, ALC, Invensys, and Trane

Preferred

Understanding of IP networking fundamentals (subnets, routing, NAT, firewalls) is a plus
