Responsibilities
Monitor emails, social media, community groups and other sources to find stories
Use data and analytics to inform content decisions
Efficiently and accurately write stories, sometimes several per day
Find, pitch and swiftly produce stories on topics of emerging interest, with a focus on what readers want and need to know
Ensure content is properly optimized with conversational headlines, SEO, links, video and photo galleries
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or master's degree in journalism, communications, media, or related field; or equivalent experience
Proven experience in journalism, preferably with on breaking news
Strong writing, reporting and multimedia storytelling skills
Experience using social listening and engagement tools to find story ideas
Uses data to help make editorial decisions
Preferred
Experience shooting and editing smartphone video and photos is a plus
Being comfortable on camera is a plus
