Hebrew Public is a growing network of charter schools dedicated to serving children from diverse backgrounds. They are seeking an Emotional Support Classroom Counselor to support students with emotional disabilities and health impairments, helping them achieve academic and behavioral success in both special and general education settings.

Responsibilities
Ability to implement small group academic supports
Ability to teach and reinforce appropriate positive behaviors
Ability to de-escalate and manage student in crisis
Ability to collaborate with general and special education teachers to implement Positive Behavior Supports for student with Emotional Support needs
Ability to work as a team member to create and reinforce a healthy classroom culture for staff and students
Completing other identified tasks
Detail-oriented and committed to collect specified behavioral data to support student programming
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work well as a member of a classroom and school team
Results-oriented individual – a flexible thinker willing to do “whatever it takes.”
Open to continuously develop behavioral management skills through professional development
Qualification
Required
Associate's Degree (or at least 60 college credits) or passing score of ParaPro exam required
Experience working with students receiving special education services required
Behavioral management knowledge required
Preferred
Education-related field preferred
Experience working with adolescents, school-setting experience preferred
Experience working with student with Emotional Support needs preferred
