Responsibilities

Performs clinical assignments of moderate scope and complexity under general supervision
Applies familiarity with and use of a number of standard principles, methods, and practices as necessary in order to adapt practices and techniques to specific situations, adjusts and correlates data; recognize discrepancies and deviations in Results, and follows an operation through of series of related detailed steps and/or processes
Carries out clinical pharmacy functions of drug selection, compounding, and dispensing. Provides information and consultative advice to the prescribing doctor on contraindications and side effects of drugs. Participates in inter- and intra- departmental hospital training programs for such groups as physicians, nurses, and pharmacists

Required

A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained
All applicants must have passed the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) and the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE)
Applicants must be licensed to practice pharmacy in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
Applicants must be able to distinguish basic colors
Three (3) years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D., Pharm.D., or equivalent doctoral degree
You are strongly encouraged to submit a copy of your transcripts or a list of your courses including titles, credit hours completed, and grades
Only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education may be credited
If you are using foreign education to meet qualification requirements, you must send a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with your transcript in order to receive credit for that education
Selectee may be subject to a probationary period
U.S. Citizenship is required
Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959
This is a designated position covered by Public Law 101-630, requiring contact or control over Indian children
Confidential Financial Disclosure Form required
IHS Selectees that will work in an IHS health care facility may be subject to Employee Health Policies related to Measles and Rubella, and seasonal influenza immunizations
The selected individual is required to obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensure requirements
On-call hours or standby duty may be required
Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
