Program Manager, Science
Puget Sound ESD seeks a Program Manager, Science to lead and provide regional services in science education that meet district needs and transformational possibilities. The Program Manager will develop, implement, and evaluate innovative science education programs and services for K-12 schools across the region, collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance science teaching and learning.

Responsibilities
Collaborates with internal and external partners, agencies, and organizations (e.g., LTFS, the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), higher education, school districts, etc.) for the purpose of assuring stewardship for developing and delivering professional development learning opportunities for educators in instruction and instructional leadership, with ongoing support for sustainability
Develops and provides district and school-based curricular, instructional and assessment professional development and support for the purpose of improving instruction, implementing state education standards, and resolving learning issues to ensure department/program outcomes are met
Embodies the principles and practices that form our culture and commitment to becoming an Antiracist Multicultural Organization for the purpose of meeting the Agency’s End: Success for Each Child and Eliminating the Opportunity Gap by Leading with Racial Equity
Facilitates meetings, workshops, Fellows program and seminars (e.g., inter- and intra-district committees, community and public agencies, etc.) for the purpose of gathering and conveying information on subjects required to perform functions
Identifies and pursues grant opportunities and other funding sources for the purpose of supporting program initiatives
Ability to collaborate across content areas (math, science ELA) to implement integrated approaches in K-12 districts and classrooms
Leads and coordinates the regional content area work for the purpose of establishing and sustaining regional delivery based on local needs, providing information and technical assistance, and ensuring availability of resources in support of the content area
Manages assigned project and program components for the purpose of ensuring completion within designed time parameters, budget, and supporting department goals
Monitors, communicates, and supports Washington's educational reform efforts, significant educational changes, national, state, and local trends in the area of teaching and learning of content area for the purpose of gathering and conveying information, and ensuring program services are aligned with the latest research and best practice
Collects and prepares a variety of reports and data for the purposes of providing responsive district support and documenting activities and issues, meeting compliance requirements, and measuring the success of program efforts
Conducts research to provide information and opportunities (e.g. best practices, pending legislation, emerging curriculum, technology, etc.) for the purpose of developing additional and appropriate resources that address districts' professional development and program needs
Responds to issues and inquiries from school district administrators and educators regarding development, implementation, and evaluation of programs in curriculum, instruction, and assessment for the purpose of providing information, resolving problems, and/or referring to appropriate personnel
Demonstrates awareness of personal and systemic biases. Leads with an equity-focused mindset and consistently apply the organization’s equity tools to support fair and inclusive practices
Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in science education, Educational Leadership or related field
Current Washington State Teacher or Administrator certificate
Job related experience with specialized field is required
Expert in Microsoft Outlook, Office Suite, and Microsoft Teams and Google
Strong understanding of current science education standards, curricula, and assessments
Strong presentation/communication skills to convey information clearly to diverse audiences
Preferred
Experience in Multilingual Learning
Demonstrated ability to deliver Cross-Content Area Instruction, effectively integrating science, math, and literacy concepts to support interdisciplinary learning
Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams
Experience working in a school district or educational service agency
Knowledge of grant writing and fund development
