Responsibilities
Develop and maintain PRA logic models and/or supporting thermal-hydraulic analyses used to quantify risk and support design and licensing activities
Model development for internal and external events
Sensitivity and uncertainty evaluation
Preparation of Level 1 and Level 2 results to support risk-informed decisions
Develop and apply RELAP5-3D and MELCOR models to simulate plant response for transients and accidents that inform PRA quantifications
Coordinate with system design engineers
Participate in internal reviews to assure consistency and technical quality of PSA inputs and results
Qualification
Required
B.S degree in nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, or closely related field from an accredited college or university
Familiarity with thermal-hydraulic behavior of light water reactors (LWRs)
Proficiency with one or more industry codes such as CAFTA, SAPHIRE, RiskSpectrum, RELAP5-3D, or MELCOR
4-6 years of experience in probabilistic risk assessment and/or thermal-hydraulic safety analysis for nuclear facilities
Familiarity with ASME/ANS PRA Standards and NRC or IAEA risk guidance
Ability to interpret results and communicate risk insights clearly to technical audiences
Excellent technical writing, interpersonal, and communication skills
Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810
