Responsibilities
Lead UX initiatives and establish best practices as part of the ASF Center of Excellence
Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, and development teams to translate design mockups and prototypes into high-quality, performant code
Implement and maintain user interface components and interactions according to design specifications
Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility and responsiveness of web applications
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
Conduct user testing and gather feedback to inform design iterations and improvements
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in UX design and front-end development
Contribute to the documentation of design and development processes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Science, or a related field
5+ years of experience in UX design and front-end development
Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js)
Experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar
Solid understanding of UX principles, user-centered design, and accessibility standards
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills
Expertise in user research methods and data analysis
Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment
Preferred
Experience with back-end technologies (e.g., Node.js, Python) is a plus
Portfolio of past projects demonstrating UX engineering skills
Experience in establishing or contributing to a UX Center of Excellence
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
Deep understanding of accessibility standards
Experience in government or defense-related projects
