Lead Director of Gift Planning - Advancement and Alumni Engagement
Emory University is a leading research university that fosters excellence and attracts world-class talent. They are currently seeking a Lead Director of Gift Planning to support the development of planned gifts through donor engagement and collaboration with advancement teams.

Responsibilities
Identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards a portfolio of planned giving donors
Provides gift planning guidance and technical support to major and principal gifts staff
Works collaboratively with school and unit advancement teams to increase planned gifts
Performs related responsibilities as required
Meet department metrics for visit preparation, qualification, contact reports, visits, referrals, and accurate coding using the CRM system
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree and six years of related experience in fundraising, estate or financial planning
Preferred
Successful candidates will possess experience working with bequests, trusts, taxes, and planned giving with a strong working knowledge of tax, trust, and other laws affecting charitable planning
Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving skills with attention to detail, the ability to work with ambiguity, navigate a complex work environment, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively to achieve goals with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as effective presentation skills
Prior experience in advancement, fundraising, alumni engagement, non-profit, or a university setting
Juris Doctor and/or financial certification preferred
Experience working with various technologies including advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, database and project management software, and CRM systems
Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines
Possess a high level of professionalism and commitment to confidentiality with sound judgment and discretion
