The Friedkin Group is seeking a Senior Data Modeler contractor to design and maintain data models that align with business and technical requirements. This role involves collaborating with various teams to create scalable data structures and ensure data modeling standards are applied.

Responsibilities

Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models that align with business and technical requirements
Develop relational, dimensional, and enterprise data models supporting analytics, reporting, and operational systems
Collaborate with data architects, engineers, and business teams to translate complex requirements into scalable data structures
Utilize industry-standard data modeling tools (e.g., DcSchema Erwin, ER/Studio) for model creation and documentation
Ensure modeling standards, metadata management, and governance practices are consistently applied
Provide strategic input to data architecture and modernization initiatives across cloud environments
Integrate data models into ETL/ELT pipelines, collaborating with data engineering teams to ensure accuracy and performance
Write and optimize SQL queries to validate data structures, test model performance, and support analytics use cases
Work with cloud data platforms such as Databricks and AWS to implement and manage data models

Required

10+ years of experience in data modeling and data architecture roles within complex enterprise environments
Expertise in relational and dimensional modeling techniques
Proficiency with one or more data modeling tools (e.g., DbSchema, Erwin, ER/Studio)
Strong SQL skills, including query design, optimization, and troubleshooting
Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and integrating models into data pipelines
Experience working with cloud-based data ecosystems such as Databricks and AWS
Solid grasp of data management principles, normalization, and performance tuning
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Familiarity with data warehouse or data lake architectures
Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and modeling standards
