Rivers Casino Philadelphia is seeking an IT Specialist I to perform diversified duties required to install, move, and maintain infrastructure equipment and servers. The role involves working with Systems Administrators to assist with the design and maintenance of network equipment and servers, while ensuring compliance with internal policies and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

Complete work requests as directed by the Manager of Technology Services regarding installation of systems, voice/data network connections and coordinating work with users

Receive and respond to incoming calls and/or requests regarding problems with systems and voice/data network connections

Create and update all documentation relating to systems, network equipment, and user locations

Perform routine preventative maintenance for all server and network infrastructure equipment and works with the Manager of Technology Services and peers to resolve issues

Work with the IT Security department to administer, maintain, develop and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the infrastructure

Maintain a working knowledge and practical application of information security principles and practices as they relate to their job responsibilities. Proactively assess potential risks and vulnerabilities within the environment

Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Rivers Casino - Portsmouth Acceptable Use Policy. Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times

Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicate in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff

Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies

Must complete all required Rivers Casino - Portsmouth Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment

Attend all necessary meetings

Required

Must be 21 years of age or older upon employment

Associate degree or experience equivalent to the completion of four (2) years of college coursework in computer science, management information systems or a closely related field or equivalent work experience

One (1) to three (3) years work experience with Desktop Operating Systems, Server Operating Systems, and Basic Networking Concepts

Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Windows XP, 7, 8 &10

Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server 20xx

Must possess excellent communication skills

Must have the ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees, customers and vendors

Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers, vendors and employees

Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner

Must be resourceful, utilizing all resources that are available to resolve issues

Must demonstrate good judgment

Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and verbal cues

Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required

Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid Gaming license

Gaming license/registration as required by jurisdiction(s)

A+ and Network+ Certification from CompTIA are required

Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino

Ability to lift a minimum of sixty (60) pounds

Must be able to maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations

Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required

Ability to work in an environment with moderate to loud noise, bright lights, smoke, and dust
