Draft substantive filings, including complaints, motions for summary judgment, and appellate briefs in the United States Courts of Appeals
Research circuit splits, issues of first impression, and developing doctrine under federal civil rights and constitutional law
Assist in preparing petitions for certiorari and amicus briefs
Manage a docket of federal civil rights cases with an emphasis on building trial-ready records
Qualification
Required
Top-Level Research & Writing Skills: We prioritize writing ability above all else. Candidates must be able to synthesize complex records into persuasive narratives
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active bar admission in New York (or eligibility to waive in)
Genuine interest in civil rights, disability law, or public interest work
Preferred
Federal Judicial Clerkship or Law Review Editorial Board experience is strongly preferred
Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL fluency is valued)
