Refrigeration Engineer

Responsibilities
Design and develop refrigeration systems, including chillers, air conditioners, evaporators, condensers, and piping layouts
Perform thermal and mechanical calculations to optimize energy efficiency and performance
Select components and materials based on cost, durability, and manufacturing requirements
Oversee creation of detailed CAD drawings and schematics for new installations and retrofits
Collaborate with production and quality teams to integrate systems into workflows
Support testing and validation of performance under simulated conditions
Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, UL, CE, EPA, and regulatory standards
Troubleshoot and enhance existing systems to reduce downtime and improve reliability
Support manufacturing, installation, and commissioning
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or HVAC Engineering
3-5 years of experience in refrigeration system design within a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and simulation tools
Strong grasp of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer principles
Familiarity with industrial refrigerants and pressure vessel design
Effective project management and documentation skills
Ability to work cross-functionally with diverse teams
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and background check
You must be authorized to work in the United States
You must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally, up to 10% annually
This is an on-site position at our facility in Batavia, OH

Preferred knowledge of PLCs and automated control systems
