Responsibilities
Build new AI features and enhance existing ones with an eye for quality and impact
Keep up with the latest AI technologies, implementing the newest models and frameworks, while keeping an eye towards the future
Focus on customers and iterate quickly to bring them value
Collaborate closely with engineers, designers and product leaders
Mentor software engineers and review work constructively, including supporting other teams to supercharge AI Product Development across the company
Shape application architecture and testing frameworks as we establish best practices for the new world of LLM-powered software
Anchor the team’s on-call rotation by assisting, guiding, and teaching others during complicated incidents

Be responsible for making effective use of your time, focusing on quality results instead of effort
Qualification
Required
Experience building AI/ML/LLM-powered software (personal or professional)
Significant experience building, shipping, and maintaining production software (often gained over ~8 years, but we value equivalent skills and impact)
Expertise with our frontend (React, JavaScript/TypeScript) and backend (Node.js, Postgres, Docker) tech stack
A history of collaborative, team-based work, and technical leadership
Strong communication skills and an ability to clearly explain technical topics to engineers and non-engineers alike
Able to work independently while contributing to a supportive, collaborative team
Proficiency developing and maintaining services on AWS, and strong operational skills using an APM like Datadog
Awareness of the ethical implications of using AI
Preferred
Experience with Generative Multimedia Models (Text-to-image, Text-to-speech, Text-to-video, etc.)
Experience with MLOps (LLM Observability, Evals, etc.)
Proficient in a related field, such as Applied AI, Machine Learning, Data Engineering, Data Science, or Applied Mathematics
Experience with and passion for accessibility
