Field Sales Engineer

Responsibilities

Plan sales activities through market analysis to define the appropriate customers that will facilitate the implementation of company strategy
Schedule customer visits that are productive for the customer and our company by careful planning for the visit including the purpose and the agenda for the visit
Engage in active listening with the customer that facilitates the learning of customer’s needs and requirements
Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure an effective network of contacts to react to customer needs
Negotiate agreements in collaboration with customers and business partners to reach the best solution
Work with internal stakeholders to coordinate and align company products and processes that result in an optimized solution for the customer requirements
Promote the complete range of company products and services to satisfy customer requirements for both their product and application needs
Actively sell our products and services by providing value-added solutions that meet our customers’ needs
Actively seek the sales order from the customer upon obtaining their agreement and buying with the proposed value-added solution
Document and report sales activities including test reports and cost savings, and forecasts of business through monitoring of customers and competitors

Required

Degree(B.S.)in mechanical engineering or business administration with technical focus, or advanced technical (A.S.) degree and or equivalent experience in cutting tool industry
Several years of sales experience with industrial cutting tools where new business development is the primary focus OR several years of manufacturing experience and ability to sell in end-user and channel sales model
Experience in the manufacturing or distribution marketplace
Experience in working independently from a home office or virtual office environment and traveling a significant amount of time
This position requires a valid Driver's License
Required to live in Chicago Metro Area
The ability to initiate and steer the purposeful interaction with customers, including successful identification and management of accounts using a structured approach to territory management
The ability to support customers in their productivity increases
The ability to advise customers when it comes to Product & Services
The ability to use relevant Walter Software & office support tools
The ability to establish and maintain healthy working relations and partnership with key stakeholders
The ability to utilize assigned resources to deliver results
Ability to provide customer-tailored service
The ability to work effectively as part of a team, actively contributing to accomplishing organizational goals
The ability to communicate and conduct business in English
The ability to listen, give feedback and transmit information and ideas
The ability to negotiate successfully
The ability to give effective presentations in front of diverse audiences
