The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual for the position of Assistant Professor-In-Residence in the College of Engineering and Honors College. The role involves teaching responsibilities, contributing to curriculum development, and mentoring students while focusing on interdisciplinary courses related to engineering and technology.

Accounting

Responsibilities

Teaching responsibilities across both the College of Engineering and the Honors College
Contributing to curriculum development and program assessment
Mentoring students and providing other forms of college and university service
Developing and delivering new interdisciplinary courses such as applied AI, machine vision, immersive design, and sustainable technology practices
Teaching first-year seminar courses for engineering majors in the Honors College

Required

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Engineering or a closely related field by the time of appointment
The doctoral degree must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) must be obtained prior to the start date
Strong communication and leadership skills are essential

Preferred

A strong commitment to student success, mentoring, and undergraduate intellectual development
Proven ability to develop and deliver well-structured, rigorous, and interdisciplinary courses
Evidence of effective, innovative, and creative instructional methods that promote active learning and critical thinking
