Court Reporter III
The Colorado Judicial Branch is committed to providing equal access to justice and strengthening the rule of law across Colorado. They are seeking a Court Reporter III to provide professional Realtime reporting and transcribing services for court proceedings, ensuring accurate documentation and record management. The role involves collaboration with team members and maintaining high standards of reporting accuracy.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Provides real time, verbatim court reporting services through stenographic shorthand for jury trials, preliminary hearings, motions hearings, and any applicable requested court proceedings
Manages and maintains records and prioritizes transcript production
Prepares required reports and documentation pursuant to Chief Justice Directive 05-03 and local policies and procedures
Ensures backup of all stenographic notes, rough drafts, and completed transcripts including reporter dictionaries, CAT software files, and stenographic machine files
Assists team members, works on various hearings and/or trials as a team, shares files and work product, and attends weekly meetings
Performs other duties as assigned
Work requires the occasional direction of helpers, assistants, seasonal employees, interns, or temporary employees
Receives General Direction
Employee normally perform the job by following established standard operating procedures and/or policies. There is a choice of the appropriate procedure or policy to apply to duties. Performance reviewed periodically
Work requires advanced skills and advanced & extensive knowledge of work. Incumbent can handle complex tasks and translate complex nuances related to aspects of the job
Position has no fiscal responsibility
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree or 2 years of college
1 to 3 years of court reporting experience
RPR certification through the NCRA plus meet Colorado standard for Realtime (94% accuracy on one of the applicable exams)
Provides real time, verbatim court reporting services through stenographic shorthand for jury trials, preliminary hearings, motions hearings, and any applicable requested court proceedings
