Responsibilities
Gather, analyse and use data to drive both day-to-day decision-making and long-term strategic and operational planning
Conduct analysis and deep-dives into aspects of Dataminr’s alerting and operational processes, in order to identify and execute quality improvement and innovation opportunities
Conduct R&D data exploration of open source data ingests utilizing APIs and other methods
Support and build proprietary algorithmic data streams
Find technical solutions to help solve business and internal product challenges
Collaborate closely with Operational, AI and Data teams to support business objectives
Be self-driven with proven technical abilities, sense of teamwork, and willingness to roll up their sleeves and get work done
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
4+ years in a similar role at a consulting, operations, or analytics firm/role
Passion for breaking information, current world events, technology, and a great understanding of both social media and publicly available data
Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills, with a strong sense of ownership and willingness get work done
Ability to maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment, quickly learning new technologies and business requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with self-motivation and the ability to handle multiple competing priorities
High proficiency in following technical skills: MS Office suite, Google Suite
Experience with metrics analysis
Experience using SQL for data analysis
Preferred
Python scripting skills desirable
