Technical Artist, Animation Systems – UE5 (Sports / Action / Simulation Games)
Refactor Games is a AAA sports video game studio developing the next generation of professional football video games using Unreal Engine 5. They are seeking a highly skilled Technical Artist to implement animation systems for their upcoming sports title, requiring strong Unreal 5 development skills and collaboration with various teams.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with animation, programming, and technical teams on the creation and tuning of in-game animation systems in Unreal 5
Refine animation pipelines with an eye for efficiency, visual results, and ease of use
Support animation team with tools and script support as needed
Provide feedback and improvement approaches to in-game features and aesthetics
Create in-game feature testbeds and support rapid system prototyping
Qualification
Required
5+ years of professional experience creating animation state machines in Unreal engine or equivalent experience
Proven experience shipping high-performance console and/or PC titles
Strong understanding of modern game engine animation systems such as motion matching systems and state machines
Strong understanding of animation and rigging pipelines and software (Maya, Motion Builder)
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across art and engineering disciplines
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Preferred
Experience on sports titles
Appreciation of sports and sports games
Experience with Shotgrid, Jira, similar production tracking software
Experience with real-time broadcast presentation
Ability to author temp animations for test systems when needed
