Senior Quality Engineer

Responsibilities
Aides in developing metrics that track and report status of the overall business Quality System (i.e. Cost of Quality, customer complaints, product non-conformances, etc)
Project leader for Problem Solving Processes (8D, 5 Why, 7D, etc) to resolve Customer complaints, Customer audit findings or Return Material Authorizations in a timely manner that prevents reoccurrence
Drive process quality improvements working with Process Engineering through the implementation of automated process controls, SPC, sampling systems, enhanced manufacturing procedures and utilization of statistical techniques
Maintains the Nonconforming Material Process and develops actions to reduce non-conformances through Lean and Six Sigma techniques
Member of customer audits and customer visit teams
Acts as a back up to the Quality Manager or Quality Supervisor
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in a technical field required (metallurgy, material science, chemistry or chemical engineering degree preferred)
Drive process quality improvements working with Process Engineering through the implementation of automated process controls, SPC, sampling systems, enhanced manufacturing procedures and utilization of statistical techniques
Maintains the Nonconforming Material Process and develops actions to reduce non-conformances through Lean and Six Sigma techniques
Member of customer audits and customer visit teams
Acts as a back up to the Quality Manager or Quality Supervisor
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction
Preferred
Lean and or Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred or 2-3yrs of Continuous Improvement experience
Project Management experience preferred
Preferred experience and knowledge of manufacturing systems, the quality function and technical products
Further experience with calibration, metrology and quality system auditing will be beneficial
