Staff Environmental Scientist/Engineer (Santa Ana, CA)
Montrose Environmental Group is a premier environmental services provider seeking a Staff Environmental Scientist/Engineer. This role involves supporting environmental projects, conducting fieldwork, preparing compliance documents, and collaborating with project managers and clients.
Environmental Engineering
Responsibilities
Work effectively, both independently and in a team setting
Work collaboratively with peers, seniors and our clients to build and strengthen relationships
Be present and engaged in team and client meetings, and share ideas
Conduct field work at client sites to collect data
Assist with research and data collection efforts as requested by project managers
Prepare environmental guidance documents, permit applications, compliance plans, and other resources for clients
Tracks project budget and project hours and utilizes time effectively to complete tasks within assigned timeframe(s)
Be knowledgeable of regulatory standards in environmental technical areas of responsibility
Maintain confidentiality at all times, both within Montrose and for our clients and affiliates
Exercise safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including completion of all required safety training programs
Participate in the company’s continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts
Keep up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences or Engineering (preferably civil, environmental, or chemical) from an accredited four-year college or university
0-2 years of environmental compliance experience with industrial, municipal, and/or federal clientele
Valid driver's license with driving record in accordance to Company standard
Working knowledge of business software (Microsoft Office, Outlook)
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure with multiple deadlines
Organizational skills and attention to detail
This position can be physically demanding and will require work in various working environments/conditions which requires that an individual be physically capable of canvassing large project areas by foot on various terrain and potentially in inclement weather
The position may involve local travel as needed
Preferred
Prior environmental consulting experience is a plus
