Responsibilities
Manage and/or support multiple commissioning projects including client interface, team coordination, schedule and budget management
Manage a minimum contract value of $500,000
Perform Cx reviews of construction documents and equipment submittals
Work effectively as a team member
Develop commissioning plans, reports, pre-functional checklists, and functional performance test procedures
Assist with functional testing of systems
Contribute to improving Cx processes and best practices
Perform technical analysis of building operation (controls, sequences, etc.)
Proactively communicate with a wide range of client stakeholders
Perform jobsite field observations, write detailed field reports, and lead Cx meetings
Contribute to improving Cx processes and creating best practices
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
Supervise and mentor less-experienced employees in a team-based atmosphere
Qualification
Required
Strong oral and written skills and a proven ability to interact professionally with a wide a range of clients
Experienced knowledge of HVAC and electrical system designs and operations
Experienced knowledge of building automation and lighting control systems
Experienced knowledge of Cx Industry Standards (ASHRAE, ACG, BCxA) and code requirements
Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (CEC Title 24, ASHRAE, IECC, IMC, NEC, etc.)
Experienced in the review of construction documents (mechanical, controls, plumbing and electrical drawings, specifications, etc.)
Experienced knowledge of electrical and fire/life safety systems
Knowledge of construction industry safety practices and procedures
Experienced in troubleshooting of field devices and control hardware and software
Capable of self-performing functional testing of building MEP systems and coordinates non-standard test scopes such as technology, BECx, etc
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Skilled with PDF editors (Bluebeam, Adobe), plus additional online project management software
Ability to travel up to 30% (travel will depend on project needs and may vary widely)
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in Commissioning or in the Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) consulting industry, or equivalent
11 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in Commissioning or in the Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) design consulting industry, or equivalent

8 years of experience preferred, in Commissioning or in the Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) consulting industry, or equivalent
Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification preferred
Recognized Building Commissioning Certification preferred (or ability and desire to obtain one)
