Senior Backend Engineer
Yahoo is one of the internet’s leading destinations for comprehensive sports news and innovative fantasy games. They are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to develop new features for fantasy games, maintain game operations, and build APIs to enhance user experience.

Responsibilities
New feature development for our season long and casual fantasy games in an Agile environment
Maintain game operations (e.g. seasonal launches)
Build APIs to support our mobile and web clients
Improve the code base and maintain engineering excellence
Interact cross functionally with Product and Design teams to plan and execute on fantasy projects
Architect infrastructure solutions to complex problems for new development
Qualification
Required
BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent certification
Working knowledge of Linux/UNIX
OOP and software design in PHP
Strong skills writing unit and functional tests
5+ years of experience
Preferred
Building and/or using RESTful APIs
Web servers like jetty or undertow
Familiarity with cloud services like AWS
Experience with MySQL or similar query languages
Track record of proactively establishing and following through on commitments
Passion for sports and for delivering products that users simply cannot live without
