Chief Engineer

Cushman & Wakefield is responsible for the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment. The Chief Engineer will oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency of HVAC systems, ensuring the comfort and safety of building occupants.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repairs to all mechanical equipment and systems
Conduct building tours, maintain equipment loss, and report deficiencies for corrective action
Respond to all HVAC trouble calls and troubleshoot the systems to meet the critical specifications of all Data Centers and critical environments as well as operational and comfort needs of the building(s) occupants, where applicable
Be proficient in the functionality of the BMS/EMS and understand the sequences required for proper building, equipment and system operations
Work with engineers, contractors and consultants in evaluating the proper operation of the building systems
Maintain a professional, safe and clean environment
Troubleshoot HVAC equipment and controls to determine problems and perform necessary repairs
Maintain HVAC equipment on an ongoing basis as part of the facilities preventive maintenance program
Perform other related duties as assigned, assisting other tradesmen, and emergency repairs
Adhere to established HVAC work order preventive maintenance schedule
Completes work in accordance with C&W Services Business Systems Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions
Create and maintain all operational SOPs for site specific equipment and systems

Required

Ten years' Experience operating central plant; Steam and Chillers
Experience working with pneumatic controls required
Experience working with capital construction projects
Minimum of Ten years field experience in down town class A office towers
Education or training in HVAC, refrigeration and controls
Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Strong writing skills required
Ability to lift 25lbs frequently, 50 lbs. occasionally
Climb and work off of ladders and aerial lifts safely
Observant which requires seeing, hearing, and smelling
