The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the monthly close process, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, while also supporting audits and process improvements.

Responsibilities

Perform monthly account and bank reconciliations, prepare supporting schedules, and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies

Analyze general ledger accounts, identify variances, and provide explanations or corrective actions to ensure accuracy and compliance

Prepare and file local and state tax reports, including sales and use tax filings, and assist with other compliance reporting as required

Monitor capital projects, process journal entries, manage asset settlements, and prepare monthly depreciation schedules

Assist in month-end closing by preparing and entering journal entries and performing intercompany reconciliations

Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements and other financial reports for management and corporate review

Support quarterly reviews and annual financial audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and addressing auditor inquiries

Identify and implement process enhancements to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of the monthly close and reporting cycle

Work closely with the Finance Manager to support divisional and corporate financial initiatives and reporting requirements

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field

Minimum of 5 years' experience in general and cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment; or 2-4 years' experience in public accounting in an audit role

Advanced knowledge of Accounting principles and procedures

Advanced analytical and organizational skills and must be detail oriented

Must be proficient with Excel
