Responsibilities

Assists Head of Investment Grade Credit in originating and managing individual Investment Grade Credit investments suitable to Security Benefit’s risk and return objectives
Responsible for the creation and maintenance of pricing models on Investment Grade Credit portfolio using market consistent measures and utilizing them on a monthly basis to price certain Investment Grade Credit investments
Responsible for ad hoc and periodic reporting on Investment Grade Credit investments
Responsible for coordinating with legal team(s) ensuring appropriate legal documentation is acquired to support Investment Grade Credit investments
Responsible for conducting financial analysis and overall due diligence on potential and existing Investment Grade Credit investments to understand business performance, operating trends, operating and financial forecasts, industry dynamics and assessing the overall risk of an individual potential Investment Grade Credit investment including security package and covenant protections
Assists Head of Investment Grade Credit in trading Investment Grade Credit investments suitable to Security Benefit’s risk and return objectives
Form and maintain business relationships by interfacing with borrowers and other sources of corporate debt investment origination

Required

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Finance, Economics, or related field
Typically has 1-5 years of investment analysis and experience in corporate lending/debt investing
Proficient expertise in quantitative, analytical, modeling and financial analysis skills
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications
Ideal candidate will be well organized, independent, entrepreneurial, assertive, self-motivated, detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects
Ideal candidate will be intellectually curious, possessing a strong desire to understand complex loans and situations in a dynamic environment
Strong work ethic with a team-oriented approach
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization and develop/maintain external relationships

Preferred

Progress toward CFA, CCIM, and/or MBA preferred (support provided)
