Responsibilities
Schedules and performs ultrasound procedures by performing proper diagnostic scan recognition; maintains quality assurance/improvement standards of ultrasound procedures
Correlates ultrasound procedures with patient medical history
Maintains patient records and completes patient discharges
Cleans and maintains equipment; ensures adequate stock of supplies by placing orders
Knowledgeable about advanced imaging features to support enhanced capturing of data
Maintains patient records and completes patient discharges
Retrieves studies from PACS for review and assists with quality assurance
Supports team approach and service focus work with colleagues in a 'team approach' to encourage a positive and service-oriented image for the department
Acts as a role model in providing care; assists in precepting Ultrasound Techs
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma/GED is required
Vocational/Technical Diploma, graduate of an accredited ultrasound program required
3 years Diagnostic Ultrasound Sonographer experience is required
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technology Sonography Certification – ARRT (S) required
BLS from the American Heart Association and/or the American Red Cross required
