The intern will assist in establishing relationships between process characteristics and key output variables and support the Quality Department in improving standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities
Establish relationships between process characteristics and key output variables
Assist the Quality Department with the development and improvement of standard operating procedures and temporary work instructions
Identify, justify, and implement cost savings projects
Participate on Capital Project teams as needed
Daily and direct interaction with production personnel involving process related issues and potential improvements
Qualification
Required
Currently attending accredited 4-year college with a major in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science/Metallurgy, or related field
Candidates must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA
Preferred
Desire to work in a manufacturing environment, and working from a maintenance perspective with heavy industrial equipment is a plus
Familiarity with computer-based process models and optimization techniques
Proficiency with ad-hoc database queries using Microsoft Access or SQL
Role will have the opportunity to present their projects to the senior management of ATI Specialty Rolled Products at the end of their internship
