Journeyman Machinist

Responsibilities

Ability to read and interpret prints, sketches, and follow work instructions
Programming using Mastercam, Conversation Programming, and G & M Codes
Setup and Operate CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, Manual Mills, and Lathes
Perform in process inspections using multiple inspection equipment, to include the ability to hold tight tolerances and surface finishes as stated on drawings
Occasional hand grinding, as needed
Good Math skills and ability to calculate proper feeds and speeds
Perform duties in a safe and timely manner
Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production
Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping
Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects
Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent
Candidate must have 8 years verifiable Journeyman status as a machinist in an industrial or manufacturing environment to include turning, milling, drilling, print review and generation of drawings
Ability to read and interpret prints, sketches, and follow work instructions
Programming using Mastercam, Conversation Programming, and G & M Codes
Setup and Operate CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, Manual Mills, and Lathes

Excellent coordination and mechanical skills
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in math
Basic computer skills
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks
Experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly
Working knowledge of safety protocols
