Responsibilities
Assist in the design, development, and debugging of firmware for Ethernet NIC products
Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality and maintainability
Develop and execute unit tests and integration tests to ensure firmware functionality and reliability
Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate firmware with other system components
Support the resolution of firmware-related issues during product development as well as internal and customer found issues
The position requires solid embedded design, coding, and troubleshooting skills
Development and debug will involve the use of software debuggers, ICEs, IDEs and protocol or logic analyzers
Contribute to documentation of firmware designs, specifications, and test plans
The position requires good written communication skills and the ability to verbally communicate additional details
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 2+ years of related experience or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Experience in embedded software development
Excellent C programming skills
Knowledge of Microprocessors, system architecture and IO systems
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Great teamwork skills
Preferred
Demonstrated experience in networking protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP)
Understanding of network concepts, protocols and equipment
Experience with Protocol Analyzers and In-Circuit Emulators
Experience with ARM compilers, probes and debug tools
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Experience with defect tracking systems (e.g. Jira)
Familiarity with hardware-software interaction and low-level programming
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python)
Experience interfacing with geographically dispersed teams
Good overall design skills and thorough understanding of and integration with software development life cycle
Effective documentation skills
