They are seeking a Thermal Engineering Intern for their Summer Internship Program, where the intern will perform thermal analyses, collaborate with hardware developers, and gain hands-on experience in spacecraft systems.

Responsibilities

Perform thermal analyses to determine radiator and heater sizing, select appropriate external coatings, and ensure all spacecraft components remain within thermal limits

Collaborate with hardware developers to select materials, processes, and testing protocols that meet thermal design specifications

Establish and manage thermal interfaces among various spacecraft subsystems to ensure compatibility and functional integration

Execute a time bound, well defined project which is of high value to York

Gain hands-on assembly and test experience

Interface with multiple engineering disciplines and project stakeholders

Other duties as assigned

Required

Enrollment in a 4-year degree program at an accredited university studying Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field

Familiarity with heat transfer principles, thermodynamics

Demonstrates self-initiated work in a team environment with strong leadership skills

Strong communicator, great team player and overall hard worker

Self-starter and self-motivated with a hunger to learn

An interest in full time employment at York Space Systems

Demonstrated interest in spacecraft and space systems

Ability to work fulltime in office

Preferred

Junior year level or higher in their bachelor's in engineering degree

Experience with Thermal Desktop

Experience with Solidworks (or similar) CAD skills

Familiarity with heat transfer principles, thermodynamics, and their applications in spacecraft systems
