Deputy Assistant Director - Asset Management
The City of New York is the chief financial agency of the city government, overseeing the Mayor’s expense and capital budgets. The Deputy Assistant Director - Asset Management will manage the tasks necessary to maintain an asset inventory and ensure the objectives of the Asset Management Program are effectively met.

Responsibilities
Management of the tasks necessary to maintain an asset inventory, condition assessment and maintenance schedule program for the City’s major assets
Ensure that the objectives of the Asset Management Program are carried out effectively
Ensure that Asset Inventory Reports are published within mandated deadlines
Display the technical skills and knowledge necessary for meeting Program objectives
Formulate and implement substantive goals, and recommendations to positively impact Program execution, assuring the continuation of high data and evaluation standards
Liaise with City agencies to ensure the asset inventory is up-to-date and accurate
Selection, training in Asset Information Management System (AIMS) methodology, supervision and development of the Asset Management Unit at OMB
Oversight and facilitation of activities between the Department of Design and Construction’s Buildings Assessment Unit, OMB’s AIMS survey consultant and the City Agencies
Management of the AIMS consultant contract, budgeting and planning annual Work Orders, maximizing use of funding to ensure efficiency of surveys, and cyclical updates to costs and engineering tables in the AIMS database
Review, evaluate for selection and assess the AIMS survey consulting engineers for contract compliance
Provide technical support for OMB and other city agencies
Manage system enhancements to the AIMS Database
Qualification
Required
A cover letter is required to be considered for this position. Applications submitted without a cover letter will not be considered
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of full-time experience with a physical asset management system, including supervisory experience
The successful candidate must be able to maintain confidentiality and have excellent quantitative, analytical, and interpersonal skills
They must also be able to communicate effectively in both written and oral formats
Must have demonstrated attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, strong organizational and strong management skills
Must have proficiency with MS Office platforms and some understanding of databases
You must be a City resident within 90 days of the date of appointment and you must be legally eligible to work in the United States
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college
