Senior Wireless Software Engineer, WiFi

The Senior Wireless Software Engineer will leverage expertise in Wi-Fi standards and wireless software stack development to enhance connectivity performance and user experiences across various platforms.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and integrate wireless software features across Android, Windows, and embedded platforms, including SDKs, frameworks, and system services
Implement, optimize, and tune wireless networking protocols with a focus on enterprise-scale architectures and deployments
Design, implement, and troubleshoot peer-to-peer technologies - such as Wi-Fi Direct and Wi-Fi Aware to deliver secure, reliable, and low-latency connectivity across diverse networking scenarios
Collaborate closely with wireless chipset vendors, industry partners, and internal engineering teams to align designs, debug system-level issues, and optimize end-to-end wireless performance
Analyze and troubleshoot complex wireless behavior including performance degradation, QoS bottlenecks, interoperability issues, and security constraints in large-scale networks
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
6+ years of experience in Wi-Fi software development, including protocol behavior, performance tuning, and debugging
3+ years of experience developing software SDKs/frameworks on Android, Linux, or similar OS platforms
Strong programming skills in Java, C, C++, or Objective-C, with solid grounding in software engineering fundamentals (OO design, debugging, system-level architecture)
Familiarity with radio standards such as 802.11 and Bluetooth, and an understanding of related protocol stacks
Experience collaborating across hardware, OS, QA, and cross-functional engineering teams
Ability to work independently, drive technical tasks to closure, and clearly communicate root-cause findings to senior leadership and partners
Preferred
Deep understanding of 802.11 standards, WLAN MAC/PHY operation, RF concepts, and enterprise Wi-Fi architectures (controller-based or cloud-managed)
Proficiency in C/C++ and embedded systems programming for performance-critical wireless features
Experience working directly with wireless chipset vendors to optimize connectivity performance and resolve interoperability issues
Comfort working across diverse platforms including Linux, Windows, embedded systems, cloud-managed networks, and mobile OS stacks
Expertise in Wi-Fi performance analysis using tools such as Wireshark, spectrum/RF analyzers, logging frameworks, and low-level tracing
Strong understanding of peer-to-peer technologies (Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Aware), including device discovery, group formation, and data transport mechanisms
