Responsibilities

Revise preventative maintenance and calibration cycles based on Army guidance, regulations, manufacturers' literature, and local conditions
Monitor equipment life-cycles
Assist with the out shipment of medical devices for deployment and reconstitution of assets when returned
Serve as the automated maintenance system manager for the maintenance operation to include all data files and reports that pertain to medical maintenance services and equipment readiness within the area of responsibility
Focuses on quality issues in all aspects of biomedical equipment maintenance processes and maintenance shop operations concurrent with an effective quality management program, i.e. ISO 9001, etc
Develop and update standard operating procedures, system level procedures and work instructions as required, and explains work requirements, methods, policies, and procedures
Perform a variety of quality assurance functions in support of the medical equipment maintenance operation and mission
Repair electronic, pneumatic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical medical equipment to include troubleshooting, identifying source of problem(s), and replacement of defective printed circuit board(s), discrete component(s) or other parts as appropriate
Perform other duties as assigned

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position
This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement
Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform
Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment
Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement
Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service
Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation
May be required to successfully complete a trial period
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory
Military Grades: WO1 through CW4
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 36 months specialized experience, education, or training of a comprehensive range of maintenance management policies and practices regarding remedial maintenance, scheduled services, equipment classification, technical inspections for issue/turn-in, equipment accountability, and related administrative and supply management practices; experience of analog and digital circuit theory, pneumatics, hydraulics, optics, opto-electronics, electro-mechanics, and all associated terminology and symbolism in order to identify and repair medical equipment failures, to perform medical equipment incoming and PM inspections, and to design new devices or implement medical equipment modifications/interfaces; experience of the operation and application of standard and special purpose Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment in order to troubleshoot and repair medical equipment failures, to perform medical equipment preventive maintenance and calibration services, and to perform remedial maintenance of medical equipment; experience, knowledge and ability to interpret and relate federal, Army, state, and local standards and regulatory requirements associated with medical equipment maintenance, maintenance shop operation, and local environment; and knowledge of automated data processing systems to include a well-informed practical knowledge of Army property accounting and maintenance database systems
