Responsibilities
Processing bills, notices, delinquent notices and levies for property tax
Pulling reports for Financial Services upon request as well as standard monthly reports
Organizing and processing a yearly tax sale
Understanding the annual tax calculation process and procedures
Assisting customers and providing information related to ad valorem taxes and related fees
Explaining notices, reviewing billing information, and payment history to customers
Understanding the process for ad valorem taxes, digest changes and corrections reported by the assessor’s office and processing these changes unassisted
Providing tax and special assessment information for attorneys for closings on real estate sales and transfers
Processing and sending out delinquent notices; making sure late fees and penalties are added
Assisting in the processing of the tax sale for delinquent taxes
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in business management or one to three years of experience in a related field
Must be computer literate and familiar with Windows, MS Office, Publisher and internal programs
Must be able to work in a fast paced, multi-tasked work environment
Good oral and written communication skills a must
Must have strong public relations skills
Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and with strong attention to detail while consistently meeting deadlines
Responsible for assisting customers with questions and information regarding tax
Ability to deal with irate customers effectively and professionally
Ability to deal courteously and diplomatically with the public
