ENGINEER VI - HAWAII ISLAND (WIKIWIKI)
The State of Hawaiʻi is seeking an Engineer VI to supervise engineering personnel and manage major engineering activities. This role involves developing procedures, representing the organization on technical matters, and overseeing complex engineering projects.

Responsibilities
The Engineer VI supervises the professional and nonprofessional personnel of a major engineering activity; develops procedures and standards for carrying out their specialty in the organization, and represents the organization with authority on technical engineering matters within the area of specialization; may direct a large engineering section or assist in directing a large engineering division or district office as a technical specialist in planning, development, design and/or research; may lead the efforts of a team engaged in carrying out difficult or critical project assignments with emphasis in the area of specialization; or serves as a staff specialist responsible for overall control and coordination of a number of major and complex engineering projects or programs; and performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Legal Authorization To Work: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States
Professional License: Applicants MUST POSSESS a valid State of Hawaii Professional Engineer license AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION, as required by the Minimum Qualification Requirements
Basic Education: A bachelor's degree from a school of engineering from an accredited four-year college or university. Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements will apply
Engineering Experience: Applicants must possess four (4) years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience. At least one (1) year of Engineering Experience must have been comparable to the Engineer V level
Supervisory or Staff Advisory Experience: One (1) year of Supervisory or Staff Advisory Experience as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements
Driver's License: Some positions require possession of a valid driver's license
