Electrical Switchgear Functional Tester - 1st Shift
Eaton is a global leader in power management technologies, and they are seeking an Electrical Switchgear Functional Tester to join their team. The primary function of this role is to perform electrical and mechanical tests on Eaton power products, ensuring they meet safety standards and customer specifications before shipment.

Responsibilities
Prepare product for test and inspection in accordance with Eaton electrical test safety standards, customer specifications and quality requirements
Perform mechanical inspection, insulation tests, electrical sequence tests according to the customer specification and assembly drawings/schematics
Troubleshoot various problems that occur during test to determine root causes and report findings to the area manager, engineering, quality, production, supply chain, etc
Enter Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for all quality issues found during test
Partner with other test technicians, engineering and production concerning test procedures, customer specifications and problems found during test
Compose final test reports. Send out daily test findings to production areas
Ensure changes and/or corrections, completed by engineering and production are made as required and reflected on assembly drawings/schematics
Partner with other test technicians and engineering/sales in assisting with customer witness tests and inspection
Conduct preventative maintenance on assigned test equipment and PPE
Complete equipment pre-flight inspections
Completed and maintain Eaton specific training requirements and certifications
Participate in production Tier 2 meetings, alignment meetings and quality meetings
Provide estimated testing times and test need dates to scheduler and production teams
Continuously improve work environment processes through use of Lean tools and participating in Lean events, GEMBA, MESH, 5S+ and PPC employee training
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required
Minimum 2 years' work experience in electronics and/or electrical field, or equivalent
Able to read and interpret complex electrical schematics
Previous experience in troubleshooting complex electrical circuits
Experience working in a team-based environment
Testing experience including extensive internal & external customer interface

Preferred
Associates degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
Four (4) years' experience in a similar role
Comfortable working with up to 480VAC
Participated in and demonstration of understanding of other programs, such as MESH, 5S+, Eaton Safety Process (ESP), Eaton Quality Management System (EQMS), Eaton Continuous Improvement System (ECIS), etc
