Program Coordinator - Summer Camp
Camp Korey is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a transformative camp experience for children with life-altering medical conditions. The Program Coordinator will assist the Camp Director in supervising activities, coordinating program flow, and ensuring a safe and engaging environment for campers and families.

Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day flow of programming by managing the master schedule, activity rotations, timing, transitions, and communication with all departments
Directly supervise the Activity Lead, Media Specialist, and activity areas, providing feedback, coaching, and real-time support to ensure safe, engaging, and adaptive program delivery
Serve as the on-the-ground program point person, troubleshooting schedule changes, weather shifts, equipment needs, and emergent situations with calm and clarity
Partner closely with the Cabin Life Coordinator, Seasonal Leadership Team, and Medical Team to ensure activities are appropriately adapted and all campers can participate meaningfully
Collaborating with the Volunteer Manager to ensure volunteers are effectively integrated into daily operations, aligning assignments with program needs and providing clear communication and support
Support pre-camp training by helping design and deliver sessions related to programming, safety, engagement strategies, and activity facilitation
Ensure all activity spaces are safe, well-stocked, clean, and set up with appropriate accommodations before campers arrive each day
Lead daily program huddles to communicate expectations, celebrate wins, and prepare staff for the day’s unique needs and goals
Assist with the planning and execution of all-camp programs such as stage night, carnivals, campfires, evening events, and special programming days
Maintain documentation such as inventory sheets, program notes, supply needs, risk assessments, and end-of-session reports
Model camp spirit, energy, and adaptability by stepping into activities, supporting transitions, and keeping programming joyful, flexible, and centered on camper experience
Qualification
Required
Commit to the entire length of the contract term: APRIL 1–SEPTEMBER 15 2026
Prior experience supervising or mentoring peers or youth-serving staff
Experience working with children, families, or individuals with life-altering medical conditions
Experience planning events or activities
Joy in being silly! You'll join cheers, dances, songs, and the playful spirit of camp
Ability to 'go with the flow' in schedule, people, and program changes
Willingness to embrace challenging moments, grow through them, and stay open to learning
Ability to learn and use necessary computer software (equivalent of social media)
A continuous improvement mindset to the services provided and your own growth
Physical ability to sustain 10+ hour days of activities, functional ability to clean and participate in activities
Immunization history with current vaccines and boosters including COVID
Must obtain CPR/AED certification within first week of employment (can be provided)
Acceptable background check clearance
Preferred
Camp experience! Especially leadership or supervisory experience! Even better if it was at a SeriousFun or other specialized camp
Life or professional experience with children ages 4–17
Life or professional experience with individuals with life-altering or complex medical conditions
Communication capability in multiple languages
CPR / AED Certification
