Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a Medical Lab Technician to cover assigned shifts within the laboratory. The role involves specimen handling, test performance, quality control, and maintaining laboratory equipment, all under the supervision of licensed technologists.

Responsibilities

Specimen Handling; Receives, accessions, and processes blood, and a variety of other human source specimens, for cytogenetic analysis
Performs and reports tests according to standard operating procedures as established in the clinical cytogenetics laboratory. Demonstrates knowledge of routine testing procedures, and instrument operation and maintenance requirements, as they apply to assigned cytogenetic testing. Performs quality control and quality assurance activities related to cytogenetic testing and reporting of results

Required

Laboratory knowledge of theory, testing principles, and instrumentation related to routine clinical laboratory procedures and the ability to problem solve and troubleshoot technical problems
Ability to adapt positively to change, and interact effectively and professionally with others
Associates Degree required within field of Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, or equivalent
A minimum of one (1) experience as a medical laboratory technician
Must meet state and federal regulatory requirements for performance of highly complex laboratory testing under general supervision
State of FL, Medical Laboratory Technician

Preferred

One-Three years experience as a medical laboratory technician
Completion of an accredited internship program
