MILCON Project Manager

Cherokee Nation Businesses is seeking an experienced Planner or Project Manager for Military Construction (MILCON) projects in the Pacific. This role involves managing large construction projects for the Air Force, coordinating with various agencies, and ensuring the projects meet the required standards and timelines.

Responsibilities

Manage large construction projects ($5M to $500M) from requirements development through design and construction as part of headquarters-level Air Force execution team working closely with mission planners, facility users, the design and construction agent (USACE/NAVFAC), engineering subject matter experts (SMEs), and installation personnel
Coordinate with leadership and headquarters to develop background papers, briefing slides, respond to quick-turn requests for information (RFIs), and provide similar HQ support
Review/analyze UFCs, AFIs, and other guidance documents applicable to design and construction of vertical and horizontal facilities
Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (in some cases experience may be substituted for the degree requirement); engineering degree preferred
At least three years of relevant experience working with US military/DoD facilities and requirements (preferably with US Air Force facilities)
Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous, complex facility design/construction projects including proactively resolving project challenges
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Air Force NACI/SF85 for unescorted access to on-base facilities
Excellent English communication
Excellent computer skills
Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal

Preferred

Experience at a US military headquarters-level organization in basing, beddowns, or programs in transition
Experience with all phases of DoD facility development (planning/programming, design, and construction) preferred
Specific knowledge of DoD construction processes
Understanding of Architectural & Engineering (A&E) utilization and contracts is a plus
Familiarity with DoD/Air Force software tools for project data, reports, cost estimating, and scheduling is a plus
Track record of working collaboratively with clients/customers to identify issues and solve problems
