Responsibilities
Interpret blueprints, engineering drawing, and GD&T call outs
Ability to utilize standard measuring tools (Calipers, micrometers, tape measures, etc.)
Ability to operate a portable coordinate measuring system (CMM), and laser measuring devices
Trains and assist other inspectors with their duties, as needed
Prepare inspection reports and logs that show the details of all tests and/or inspections performed
Prepare dimensional reports that show the details of all dimensional measurements performed
Perform visual, mechanical, and dimensional inspections in accordance with approved/controlled documentation
Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on parts and assemblies
Report nonconformities and support resolution efforts through communication with project managers, quality engineers, and the quality control supervisors
Must pass background check, employment verification, and drug screening
Qualification
Required

Regular standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
Use of hands and arms to operate tools and inspection equipment
Specific vision abilities required by this job include strong visual acuity (with or without correction), color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
PPE required, safety glasses, hearing protection, and work boots
The dimensional / quality control inspector position is performed in a fabrication shop setting
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, loud noises, tripping hazards, exposure to sparks, welding arc, and open flame
The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, mild industrial chemicals, inclement weather, risk of electrical shock and vibration
It is essential for employees to maintain awareness of their surroundings and when required, wear the necessary PPE
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
Preferred
Experience working under NQA-1, ISO, and/or DOE Order 414.1D quality programs
Experience with B31.1 and B31.3 work
Experience with ASME Section III and/or ASME Section VIII quality programs
Experience with AISC quality program
