Electrician

Responsibilities
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems and controls for forging, machining, and heat treat equipment
Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints to diagnose and resolve electrical issues
Program and troubleshoot PLCs using ladder logic; update control systems as needed
Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections to ensure safe and efficient equipment operation
Test and calibrate electrical and electronic components using tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators
Support furnace operations by monitoring and maintaining temperature and control systems to ensure process compliance
Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams to resolve equipment issues and implement improvements
Maintain accurate records of work performed, inspections, calibrations, and part replacements
Follow all applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies during installations and repairs
Train and mentor other electricians or maintenance staff as needed
Participate in audits, training, and continuous improvement efforts within the facility
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Completion of a formal electrical training program, apprenticeship, or technical certification (e.g., Journeyman Electrician, NCCER, or similar)
At least 5 years of experience performing electrical work, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Experience supporting heavy industrial equipment such as presses, furnaces, or CNC machinery
Familiarity with PLC programming and troubleshooting (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
Knowledge of NFPA 70E electrical safety standards and LOTO procedures
Exposure to regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., aerospace, NADCAP, AS9100)
Strong documentation skills and ability to maintain accurate maintenance records
Cross-functional troubleshooting ability across electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
Prior experience training or mentoring maintenance personnel
Willingness to support off-shift or emergency repairs as needed
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively with superiors, visitors, and contractors
Must be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, squat, crawl, climb, and reach as needed throughout the shift
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds or more
