Responsibilities

Lead the planning, design, and deployment of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), traffic signal systems, and connected vehicle technologies

Develop traffic engineering studies, including signal optimization, corridor analysis, and congestion management strategies

Design traffic signals, roadway signage, pavement markings, and intersection improvements following NJTA, NJDOT and MUTCD standards

Oversee integration of ITS hardware/software, traffic management centers, and emerging technologies

Prepare technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates

Collaborate with agencies such as NJDOT, NJTA, MPOs and local municipalities on statewide and regional projects

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance

Ensure compliance with industry standards (MUTCD, NTCIP, AASHTO) and applicable regulations

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field and 6 years of traffic modeling, traffic signal design, and traffic engineering or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Demonstrated proficiency in traffic analysis software such as Synchro, VISSIM, HCS, and CAD software and/or MicroStation

Valid US Driver's License
