Responsibilities

You will prepare Navy Correspondence to include gathering information, assembling supporting documentation, typing and use of word processing, correcting grammar, spelling, proofreading, routing through chain until completion
You will be responsible for administrative duties such as correspondence control, forms management, report management and directives management
You will be responsible for maintenance of security records, establishment and destruction of records, access documentation, and maintenance of serial numbers for restricted area badges for work center personnel
You will initiate, assist in completion, review, submit and track to completion of investigation/re-investigations submitted via the Electronic Application (e-APP) via National Background Investigative Services (NBIS)
You will process unclassified and outgoing communication. Stamp, mark, seal, package, type address label and affix to parcel and route unclassified outgoing communication

Required

Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Experience with security protocols sufficient to establish and maintain security records, files and databases; review and track investigations; access control protocol and maintenance of classified materials
Experience with Electronic Application (E-APP), Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), Defense Information System for Security (DISS) or comparable system
Experience utilizing Navy correspondence sufficient to develop and use formats, letters for paragraphs or letters using correspondence style format guides and manuals
Experience applying Navy's Award Program for military personnel
Experience in two or more Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point)
This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute
