Responsibilities
Lead and support the engineering activities for large scale product development programs by investigating feasibility, performing design using 3-D modeling software, conduct layout review and 2D drawing creation
Analyze and resolve complex problems independently or with minimal guidance
Create part specification requirements and BOM
Negotiate with surrounding component business units and suppliers
Perform cost analysis, strength calculations and material selection
Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve product and/or processes
Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology, and reduce design and parts costs
Travel to client sites required
Qualification
Required
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering
3+ years of Automotive industry experience in design and development of electrical wiring harnesses and associated components for commodities such as but not limited to Door/Instrument panel/Engine room/roof/floor harnesses
Experience in wiring harness routing, wire sizing, bundle diameter calculation, mounting hardware selection
Experience in design and development of sheetmetal brackets, and good stamping DFM understanding
3+ years of Experience using CATIA V5 for 3D modeling and drafting
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in MS office
Preferred
Education with the following specialties: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing
CATIA V6/3DX experience preferred
