Responsibilities
Lead and manage the mechanical estimating department
Develop detailed cost estimates and takeoffs for HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing scopes
Interpret drawings, specs, and subcontractor proposals to build accurate bid packages
Guide bid strategy, project qualification, and pricing decisions
Strengthen relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and partners
Enhance estimating tools, cost databases, and internal processes
Collaborate with leadership and operations to ensure smooth handoff to project teams
Qualification
Required
7+ years of mechanical estimating experience (HVAC, mechanical, or plumbing)
Proven leadership or mentorship experience within an estimating team
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction practices, and cost structures
Proficiency with tools such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, ProEst, or similar platforms
Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines under pressure
